WHAT'S A STEVNE?
Solørlag's stevner are held in mid-September at various locations in an effort to
reach more people and to visit different historic Norwegian settlements. Traditionally
located in a hotel/convention center, each stevne provides researchers with four
days of access to and materials until the wee hours of the morning, or as long as
their stamina permits. Many folks find out they are cousins after all.
Solørlag has developed an
extensive and varied collection of research materials including some on Finnish and
Swedish Finnskog areas in addition to the Hedmark materials.
